Allergy Symptoms
The symptoms of allergies and the severity varies from person to person. This might be because of the difference in the responsiveness of the immune system in each person. The symptoms of allergies include:
Cold like symptoms – runny nose, sneezing, coughing
Watery and/or burning eyes
Hives, rashes
Vomiting
Headache
Mood swings
Swelling in the throat, tongue, fingers, lips.
Food allergy symptoms may subside after few hours which may be due to the digestion of the food.
Allergies caused due to the environmental factors remain as long as one is exposed to them.
Asthma is also a kind of allergy. An acute asthma attack can be life threatening. Most allergy symptoms are not life threatening but can make carrying out day to day activities very difficult.
Food allergies are normally not life threatening. However certain conditions like hives or swelling in the throat may make breathing extremely difficult. One must seek medical attention in such cases as soon as possible.
