Benefits of Drinking Water

Enough has been said and written about the benefits of water. Should you believe all that? I would leave the answer of that question to you. But the best way in my view to confirm the benefits of water is to observe your own body as to what happens when you do or do not drink enough water. Let me remind you of some of the things that you might have noticed.

 

 

You must surely have noticed feeling fresh after a bath! It is not just the smell of the body lotion or the shampoo that makes you feel fresh. It is because the skin gets the water it needs when you take a shower. The more exhausted you are the more fresh you feel after a bath. That's because the body uses up the water when you are working or exercising. The water in the skin is also secreted out in the form of sweat that contains body salts. A bath cleans up the sweat and replenishes the skin with the water. You may not feel as fresh from a bath that you take after a swimming session because the skin already has the water it needs.

 

 

The water from the skin gets lost and cleansed continuously but one cannot take a bath very often. Therefore, drinking water helps replenishing the water the skin needs. Since only a small amount of the water you drink actually reaches the skin, the more water you drink the better it is.

 

 

You must have noticed sometimes the skin at the root of the finger nails peeling off. If you would just ponder a bit you would realize that you had not been drinking enough water at least for the last couple of days. If you start drinking more water the skin peels vanish by themselves!

 

 

You must have seen people with dry and shriveled lips. Many often keep licking their own lips to moisten them and to make them look beautiful. The little moisture that reaches the lips by licking, helps the lips a bit but reduces the overall content of the water in the body resulting in even drier lips. The lack of water in the body not only dries up the lips but also the skin on the whole body. Drinking water would keep the skin all over the body replenished making it look soft and beautiful.

 


Ever had a dry stuffy nose that would not let you fall asleep? If you would drink a few sips of water, you must have felt the nose getting hydrated and the blockage being no more there. A runny nose is a mechanism of the body to fight and flush out germs. A dry nose would the body less capable of fighting a cold virus right away.

 


Moving down further, did you ever notice that the heartburns get immediate relief when you drink a glass of water. That happens because it washes away the acids in the esophagus and dilutes those that exist in the stomach.

 


Excess water gets excreted quickly by the kidneys, which in the process also remove all the toxins and salts from the body.

 

 

Ever felt constipated? The only reason for constipation is the lack of water in the colon which makes the stools harder and more difficult for the colon to push them out. Just drinking a lot of water would make constipation vanish!

 

 

Since you must have noticed the above in your own lives many times, you have in fact done your own research that you can now believe because you saw and experienced the results yourself. Now you can decide on your own if drinking more water is really good or bad for health, beauty and living happy!
